Origin
The history of the Chimay Grand Cru goes back to the year 1850. In that year a group of monks from the Abbey settled in Chimay. Here they built the Scourmont abbey. In 1876 they learned about the production of cheese in France. In the same year, the Trappist cheese from Chimay became a fact. The Chimay Grand Cru is an authentic Trappist cheese. The special cheese is produced exclusively with local milk and according to traditional methods. The milk is harvested from 250 local farmers.
Combination
Of course, this cheese can best be combined with the Trappist Chimay. When you present the cheese in combination with the Chimay Tripel to your guests, they will undoubtedly speak highly of it. But do you or one of your guests prefer a good wine? Then a Bordeaux wine or a dry, fruity wine is recommended with the Chimay Grand Cru. Finally, a recommendation from the manufacturer: combine the Chimay Grand Cru with tortilla chips and salsa.
